As of today (May 25, 2024), the major party candidate filing deadlines have passed in 37 states, while the state primaries have happened in 17 states.
This leaves 13 states where Democrats still have time to file to run for office and 20 where the filing deadline has passed but the primary hasn't happened yet. there's also five states which still have primary runoff elections coming up.
